Positive for Youth Awards

Enabling young people to deliver positive impact projects in their local communities to engage with local people, businesses and charity organisations. Each project will be put forward for a Positive for Youth Awards providing opportunities for young people in Education, employment and training.

  • Need


    Negative stereotyping of young people, anti-social behaviour, the growing number of young people in the NEETs category (not in education, employment or training), social and environmental conscience and awareness, developing a pipeline of future talent that is entrepreneurial and innovative.


    It will provide positive experiences for young people that will develop self awareness, confidence and other skills.
    It will connect young people with their community, local businesses, third sector organisations and individuals that can help and mentor them.
    It will create a pipeline of young talent that have a social and environmental conscience and the entrepreneurial and innovation skills required to create

    Aim 1

    Positive impact in local communities across the UK


    » Young people identifying and delivering on local needs.

    Successful delivery of the projects across the UK and measure number of people positively impacted by them.

    Aim 2

    Develop skills and confidence in young people.


    » Encourage coaching, mentoring and involvement from the local community and businesses.

    What success will look like

    Surveys and diagnostics with all young people pre and post project delivery.

    Reduce anti-social behaviour


    » By providing opportunities for young people to connect to their communities in a positive way therefore increasing sense of belonging.

    What success will look like

    Work with local councils, schools and police to track and measure levels of anti-social behaviour in areas where projects are delivered.

    Reduce the number of young people not in education, employment and training.


    » By making valuable and sustainable connections between businesses and young people.

    What success will look like

    Work with local charities, businesses and the government to track and measure the number of young people who receive education, employment or training opportunities as a result.

  • Impact


    Reduction in anti-social behaviour and the number of young people not in Education, Employment and Training.
    Increased connections between young people, their communities and businesses.
    Increased entrepreneurial and innovation skills and also social and environmenal awareness and conscience.


    Not enough young people wanting to be involved. We are already inundated on a weekly basis with requests from young people to get involved with the project. We are also going to pilot the project in Worthing and Adur and the Youth Council have agreed to help deliver the initiative and also market it to all of the schools and youth clubs across Worthing and Adur.


    Weekly update on progress, plus live project updates from the young people and video diaries.

    The pilot will start in Worthing and Adur but the idea is that any young person or group of young people across the UK can identify and deliver a project.


    Every community where a project is delivered plus local young people, schools, businesses and third sector organisations.
