    Need

Next year, the MS Therapy Centre Lothian will celebrate the 30th anniversary of its opening! Whilst we are very proud of our community roots, the front of our centre is beginning to show its age. More importantly, our entrance ramp presents an obstacle to those of our clients who have mobility problems. This can be discouraging both for existing clients and potential clients, and may even prevent them from accessing the services that we offer.

    Solution

A re-vamp for the front of the MS Therapy Centre, including the installation of a low gradient ramp, will make it safer and more accessible and for all.
Around 2,500 people in the Lothian area have MS. A more attractive and more accessible front will help us to raise our profile and offer our services to as many of those people as possible.

  • Aims

    Aim 1

A safer and more accessible entrance to the MS Therapy Centre Lothian.

    Activities

» Install a new, lower gradient ramp and railings.

The installation of a low-gradient ramp, leading to greater client safety and satisfaction.

    Aim 2

A more attractive and welcoming front for the centre.

    Activities

» Redesign the entrance to the centre and carry out the alterations.

Greater client satisfaction, and greater awareness of the centre leading to increased footfall.

  • Impact

    Impact

The re-vamp project will modernise the MS Therapy Centre Lothian, and enable us to keep offering our services to new and existing clients. Success will be evident in the prevention of accidents, and an increase in the number of service users.

    Risk

There is a risk that our clients will be affected by the disruption to services during our re-vamp. We will deal with this risk by giving all of our clients advance notice of any closures that need to take place, and assuring them of the long term benefits of the re-vamp.

    Reporting

Upon completion of this project, all donors will be invited to a re-opening event so that they can see the changes that have been made, and learn more about the services that we offer here.
