Syrian Crisis Appeal

Medecins Sans Frontieres
The impact of the bitter civil war on health and medical care has been devastating – the health system has entirely collapsed. Targeting of hospitals, clinics and doctors has been one of the tactics of war, and on the rebel-held side many facilities have been destroyed.
The situation for ordinary people, whether wounded in the war, needing assistance in childbirth, or care for chronic conditions such as heart disease and diabetes is desperate.
MSF is one of the few international aid organisations assisting civilians in the opposition areas, and our presence is making a difference.
Since June, 11,000 patients have received medical attention, including for violence-related injuries such as gunshot wounds, shrapnel wounds, open fractures and injuries due to explosions.
We are pushing hard to expand our medical work further inside the country. We can only do this with the support of people like you.
