On May 19th 2013, four daring Devon cyclists will be setting off on their quest to cycle the length of Hadrian's Wall, in three days, to raise money for Magic Carpet.
May 2013 - June 2013
Charity information: Magic Carpet (Exeter)
This trip aims to raise money to help Magic Carpet continue working with vulnerable people in Devon.
The money raised from this trip will be used to fund creative workshops with people with learning disabilities and mental health problems, which will provide a space where people can build confidence, feel encouraged, get creative and have fun. Our workshops are led by trained arts professionals and have had a huge positive impact in many people's lives over the last 30 years. We want to keep supporting people, and this money will help us do that, by paying for art materials and room hire.

Success will be... providing more creative sessions for vulnerable people in Exeter throughout 2013
The creative sessions we run have a hugely positive impact on people's lives. This fundraiser will help secure the future of Magic Carpet so that we can continue offering these creative sessions. In the current climate it is becoming harder to secure funding for our projects, so fundraising events like Hadrian's Quest are essential for us to continue our work.
The only risks for these project would be the safety of the cyclists, and possible weather disruption. The cyclists are responsible for their own safety while on the trip, and in the case of weather disruption, we would delay the trip until the weather improves.
We will update donors, followers and supporters through our website, and through the facebook page, at www.facebook.com/hadrian'squest

Amount Heading Description £3,000 Arts Sessions running creative arts sessions for vulnerable people in Exeter
We run two-hour arts workshops throughout the week in the Art Studio, at Exeter Phoenix. We also have weekly projects that run in Honiton and Exmouth. We are hoping to expand and run sessions in the wider area, throughout Devon.
Magic Carpet works predominantly with people who have learning disabilities and mental health issues, however we do occasionally work with other vulnerable groups within society, including carers.
Magic Carpet is a local charity, and we have been working with people in Exeter for 30 years. This means we have outstanding knowledge and experience of working with the vulnerable people within our local community, and we understand their needs.
