KLL Ballet Uniform Appeal
KLL performs ballet regularly in schools in Lambeth, one of London’s most deprived boroughs. All children from this outreach work are invited to subsidised lessons at LRBS. Many struggle to buy dancewear and we wish to remove this barrier to learning by providing a uniform for these children.

Charity information: Kids Love Lambeth
Many children in Lambeth have never experienced ballet. KLL breaks down the barriers to accessing this art form and engages young children in ballet with all the consequent benefits of increased self-respect, discipline and well being through continuous contact with an active art. Through its outreach work KLL invites children to try ballet at LRBS and train for pleasure or vocationally. The ability to afford appropriate clothing often discourages children from continuing with ballet lessons.
We will remove this barrier to continued ballet training by providing children whose families are unable to afford dancewear with a ballet uniform of leotard, tights and shoes.
Enable children to continue their ballet training irrespective of their ability to buy dancewear.
Activities» Provide children with a leotard, tights and shoes where necessary.
Success will be measured by an increased number of children continuing with their training at LRBS either for leisure or vocationally.
We expect to see an increase in the confidence, discipline and well being of the children who continue to attend ballet classes; we will continue to work closely with local schools to track the progress of the students and will measure success through both student and teacher feedback. Some of the children will eventually become performers for the outreach work and be able to help engage their peer group.
KLL has not identified any significant risks with this project.
KLL and LRBS regularly update their website on outreach activity undertaken and produce a regular newsletter.
