Sibantubanye Borehole fund

Disabled Children will benefit from this project. Sibantubanye meaning we are one. This is a gardening project to benefit the school and disabled children as this will be a training centre for their gardening and poultry projects, giving them independence for the future and self sustenance.

    Need

    Sibantubanye School caters for 75 boys and 76 girls who are disabled and 75% of them orphaned. The school faces a big challenge in regards to clean and safe water for drinking, cooking and toilet facilities. The school relies heavily on running tap water that comes once in two days.

    Solution

    By digging a borehole on the premises, the school will have provision of clean and safe water supply which can be used for all purposes. Ensuring a better health for the children and access to water also means that the children can be engaged in activities like gardening or farming.

    Having a borehole on the school premises,Children are trained for farming and gardening, depending on the type of disability.


  • Impact

    Impact

    The project will provide safe water to children at school and help them live a better quality life. We will demonstrate the success of this project by monitoring the reduction in diseases, use of water effectively and the number of children who will garden and farm. ABF will monitor closely the entire project from inception to delivery. most of all is the self sustainability of the school and the children and families.

    Risk

    - Limited Funding may risk the digging of the borehole.
    - finding the right geologist to the site the borehole at very low cost
    - We will make sure that we fundraise to our target and we have found a geological company that has donated their time to help with logistics of the drlling process.

    Reporting

    Donors to this project will receive a monthly email report on the project detailing the ongoing and forthcoming activities and any necessary changes that have been made to the project plans.The success and the life changing benefits of the project and their donations and funds

  • Background

    Location

    This is a project that will be located in Bulawayo, Zimbabwe. It will be located centrally and will service surrounding rural areas. This special needs school will help a lot of children find independence.

    Beneficiaries

    Disabled children and parents who look after disabled children and the teachers and the local community members will benfit out of this project. But most of all The special needs school will be able to self sustain itself, by using the money from the Gardening and chicken project to buy food for the children, fund their feild trips, buy some of the orphans uniforms and books.

    The founder of the charity has so much passion for disabled children and their indepence, he is an activist for the rights and equalityof disabled people. We are already sponsoring some of the disabled children with school fees and know the areas very well.
