Need
Need
The Children's Hospital, Sheffield is an extraordinary place. We are one of only four of our kind in the UK, providing specialist services just for kids.
BUT WE NEED MORE SPACE.
Last year, the hospital saw over 245,000 patient appointments from all over the country and beyond.
WE DID THIS WITH LESS THAN HALF THE SPACE PER CHILD THAN RECOMMENDED FOR A MODERN HOSPITAL.
Many of our inpatient wards were built in the 1960's - they are inconvenient, cramped and increasingly outdated.
Solution
The transformation will include a new three floor block housing 48 single en-suite rooms and 6 special bays providing privacy and dignity for our patients. There will be a new Outpatients department key departments moved closer together so the hospital will be much easier to get around. A drop off point and priority parking will make arriving at the hospital less stressful. A huge play tower with fun space on every floor, new garden spaces and artwork throughout.
