The Lord Mayor's Appeal 2013 is raising funds to safeguard the environment, help lift children out of poverty, protect and ensure access to art and music for everyone.

We need to support gifted musicians who struggle to find employment using their musical skills upon leaving formal training.
We need to eliminate hardship, poverty and sickness amongst children in the UK and globally.
We need to protect the UK's woodland and future proof species.
We need to protect and make accessible art for future generations
We need to support aspiring university students with financial constraints.
City Music Foundation provides aspiring professional musicians with performance opportunities, financial and mentoring support so they can support themselves through music.
Futures for Kids provides long term financial support and one off donations to support various childrens charities.
Gifford Wood Appeal will fund the planting of 4,500 trees.
The Lord Mayor Scholarship schemes will meet the costs of tuition and maintenance fees for talented young students facing financial hardship.
To equip young musicians with the professional tools they need to support themselves financially.
Activities» Provide financial grants to fund a series of concerts over a one year period.
» Provide mentorship from experienced artists in their field.
» Provide arketing and Publicity support.
Success will be supporting a minimum of 8 gifted young musicians or small groups each year to launch successful musical careers.
To raise funds to alleviate suffering among children.
Activities» To fund specially selected projects that support children in the UK and abroad.
Success will be enabling Futures for Kids to support thousands of children to have safe, healthy and happy lives.
To plant over 4,500 trees and create a new area of woodland totaling 5 acres for everyone to enjoy.
Activities» 4,500 trees will be planted - with native oak and hornbeam and some pioneer species to create a seed bank to protect species for the future.
Success will be planting the 5 acre site in Epping Forest with 4500 trees to create a new wood, a place to visit, a habitat for wildlife and helping to protect the UK's woodlands.
To restore the collection of c17th Dutch paintings and provide greater access to a wider audience.
Activities» The paintings will be expertly restored and tours with expert guides scheduled.
Success will be restoring the paintings to their former glory and making the collection available to a much wider audience.
To enable access to further education for talented young people with the financial need.
Activities» Scholarships will be awarded to talented undergraduate students from the UK and abroad who face financial hardship.
Success will be enabling a minimum of 8 students to attend university in the UK.
The Appeal aims to preserve for future generations some of the most inspirational, precious and fundamental things in life - music, trees, paintings - and to provide opportunities for young people from all walks of life to pursue their ambitions.
Success will be demonstrated by the restoration of the Harold Samuel Collection, planting of a new wood, enabling students and talented musicians to achieve their potential without severe financial hardship.
There are no real risks associated with the Appeal, other than not raising enough funds to fulfil our aims.
All donors will receive a thank you for their support with an activity update and a full report will be available at the end of the Appeal in November 2013 via www.thelordmayorsappeal.org.

The Lord Mayor’s Appeal 2013 is based in Mansion house in the heart of the City of London and encourages people to give more and do more via a series of fundraising events and initiatives throughout the year.
Aspiring professional musicians with outstanding talent in classical, jazz or world music genres, identified via an application and audition process.
Children and young people in the UK and abroad suffering from hardship, poverty, sickness and distress.
Visitors to Epping Wood, wildlife and different species allowed to grow and live in the new Gifford Wood.

The Lord Mayor's Appeal is an efficient and effective platform for raising money and raising visibility for its chosen charities through a number of high profile events and fundraisers. Its experienced team builds on the success of previous years to engage and encourage people to do more and give more to secure the future for the next generation.

The Lord Mayor will lead the Appeal. He was elected as Lord Mayor on 9th November 2012 and will serve for one year.
