Project information

better transport

We need a new, coach built vehicle for transport so that we can perform more educational visits to more schools and youth groups. The vehicle will allow more youths to take part in our outreach education work as well as ensuring the perfect environment for our delicate animals and an ambulance.

lasting a minimum of 5 years

Charity information: Inspire-aspire

  • Need

Currently our transport is based around volunteers cars and the conditions are not suitable for the animals. Further more, an essential part of our courses for youths includes public service visits to community groups and we are very limited as all car space is taken by animals.

We will buy a vehicle and refit it to provide environmentally controlled conditions for the animals to be transported safely as well as critical care enclosures for seriously ill rescues en route to a vet.
We will then have better facilities for public education and be able to use car space to take youths on our courses along with us.

  • Aims

    Aim 1

Provide better transport and emergency care for exotic animals.

» Fundraising to purchase and fit out a vehicle

    What success will look like

Success will be a fully environmental controlled vehicle that will allow us to increase our educational outreach by approximately 20 visits per year.

    Aim 2

To take more youths on the essential public education work we do as this is integral to the course

» Fundraising to purchase and kit out a vehicle

    What success will look like

Success will be all 40-60 youths per year being able to attend the educational events as an essential course element rather than the handful we currently manage.

  • Impact

This project will reduce transport mortality among animals at rescue. It will increase ten fold the number of youths attending the public service element of the course and will increase revenue by 20%.
These are all matters of comparison with previous years.

The project is simply a change to current vehicles and as such all risks are already known and dealt with in our risk assessments.

Donors will be provided, upon request, with details of vehicle usage, number of youths benefitting and any ad-hoc information on improvements to transport for the animals. They may also be provided with previous years figures for comparison.

  • Why Us?

    Why Us?

We are unique. Our offering has proven time and again that it is very desirable to the very youths who prove difficult to place with current schemes and a whole range of psychological evidence backs up what we see with our own eyes every year as youths become less anxious and threatening and more outgoing, confident and caring.
