Doncaster Rovers Disability FC
DRFC Foundation offer football coaching sessions for disabled children in Doncaster. The success of this has enabled us to enter 2 teams into a disability league. Donations would help to support the team to access coaching, have a kit to play in and contribute to pitch and venue hire.
September 2012 - September 2013
Charity information: Doncaster Rovers FC Community Sports & Education Foundation
There are limited opportunities for disabled young people to play competitive football in Doncaster.
By providing both participation and competitive footballing opportunities allows disabled children equal opportunity to access football
Establish 2 competitive U16 boys football sides
Activities» Run regular training sessions on a Saturday morning
» Engage with local special schools to promote the opportunities
What success will look like
Success will be...to affiliate 2 teams into the FA Ability Counts Youth League
The club will become self sustainable through increased participation. Players will be able to access training opportunities to become mentors to future players
It is challenging to get disabled participants to travel to unfamiliar venues. DRFC will work with local schools to provide in-house coaching sessions with a view to encouraging young people to the sessions
All our projects are monitored by an online database where reports can be easily generated. Annual participation reports will be sent to donars at the close of each football season
