  • Need

Arts activities for young people and families are often, because of cost, out of reach to many. The arts is squeezed in the national curriculum because of pressure to study main stream academic subjects. Families under financial pressure do not do activities together which help to build family cohesion.

By providing free drop in workshops the opportunity to engage with creativity is open to the widest possible audience. Families can engage in activity together and many people coming to our workshops are first time gallery and museum visitors. the joy of producing things together is revealed to many of them for the first time.

  • Aims

    Aim 1

To provide free drop in workshops for families and young people

» Run Saturday drop in arts activities in our fully equipped learning studio.

    What success will look like

Success will be full take up of 100 free places every Saturday.

  • Impact

The project will allow us to continue free admission to our drop in sessions thus increasing the number of first time gallery visitors discovering that 'Art makes you feel better'
The more people who access our services who have never visited before will show us that we are consistently reaching new audiences.

There is a risk that we will not raise sufficient funds to continue the workshops free of charge but we are seeking sponsorship to cover materials costs to minimise the amount we need to raise.

Funders of the project will receive an evaluation report after six months.
