  • Need

Scouting is a wonderful opportunity for children to be involved in. We are now the only Group left in the Dudley Central Area, We cannot afford to let another HQ's close. If this Group closed it would be the end of Scouting in Central Dudley. We need to continue providing this service, at present we have a strong attendance with waiting lists to join.

Our Scout Group has provided a service for over 90 years, By restoring and repairing the HQ's will ensure more children have the chance to enjoy the Scouting World in the Dudley Central area. Scouting provides a safer alternative than children walking the streets and helps to reduce ASB issues in an already deprived area. We would then be able to look at taking in more leaders and children, and open the HQ's for more use by the community.

  • Aims

    Aim 1

To ensure the continued running of the Group allowing more children to enjoy the Scouting World.

» Increased activities and events at the HQ's for fundraising and Scout programmes. To increase awareness and membership.

Success will be allowing more children to become members by running more sections throughout the week.

  • Impact

The project will increase membership and prevent the last remaining Scout Group closing. Our success will be monitored by increase usage of a much more inviting building for the community to hire for parties or meeting's thus helping us to become more self sufficient and less reliant on grants and donations.

We have become more aware since starting this campaign that a portion of the community are already under the impression the building is no longer used due to is current state. The Group is now more active in the community attending as many fundraising events as possible and engaging with the local press.

We currently use our own website, Facebook, twitter and emails to keep everyone up to date with our current events, fundraising successes and future events.
