Charity information: Daventry Contact

Daventry Contact
  • Need

Daventry Contact was set up to relieve the burden of poverty by providing furniture, white goods, bedding and kitchen equipment to people in need, for example, ex homeless, single parent families, those in receipt of benefits etc. In order to continue to provide this service we are in need of a new van to enable us to make deliveries to those in need and to collect items generously donated by the general public.

The people we help rely on benefits as their main source of income and are therefore not in a position to be able to purchase items of much needed furniture brand new. We aim to provide this for them free of charge thus reducing financial burdens. A new van will allow us to do continue the work we do throughout the community of Daventry in an efficient manner.

  • Aims

    Aim 1

Purchase a new van for redistribution of recycled furniture to people in poverty.

» Collect furniture donated by the general public for redistribution.
» Deliver recycled furniture and other household items needed by people in poverty who have no resources to purchase the same.

    What success will look like

Success will be measured by the purchase of a new van and by the results of questionnaire completed by those we have delivered and collected from.

  • Impact

The continuous work of the charity is to bring relief from the burden of poverty for residents in the Daventry District area, covering a minimum of 257 square miles on a weekly basis.
This is demonstrated by the feedback received from those we have delivered to in the form of questionnaires, letters of thanks and verbal feedback.
