  • Need

The Sedbergh Centre serves its community well but needs to engage some of its older members or new members who may not be aware of the scope of activities and resources we provide. We serve clients ranging from 3-months to 94 years old but we don't get many opportunities where we can mix the generation groups. Unfortunately there are many barriers between old and young - we aim to bridge this gap.

The Sedbergh Centre Reunion Party will be an exciting social event where people who have not seen each other for years will get together for a catch-up. Many of them will not realise just how much the centre has progressed, so will hopefully encourage them to come back and use our services. The party will be open to all ages and will give an opportunity for the different generations to mix.

  • Aims

    Aim 1

Re-introduce old members to the centre.

» Many old faces will meet up for the first time in years and will be able to socialise over food and refreshments and see what services we have to offe

Success will be the number of new members we gain over the following weeks.

    Aim 2

Encourage members to mix together and break down the generation gap

» We will have a through the decades quiz with some questions relating to the history of the club. We will also have a number of different stalls.

Success will be all ages mixing together and taking part in the quiz and other activities (such as old-fashioned games eg skittles and modern games eg Wii)

    Aim 3

Showcase how the centre has progressed and offer its services to new members

» We will have an information point where members will be able to see the activities and resources we have to offer.

Success will be the number of new members we gain over the following weeks.

  • Why Us?

    Why Us?

The Sedbergh Youth & Community Centre was the first purpose built youth centre in England following the Albemarle report. We have been running for 106 years as a charity and to date we do not receive any government funding. We need our members to use our centre so we can continue to carry out the good work we currently offer to our community.
