  • Need

Improving public health through good food is the overall aim of the Caroline Walker Trust. Many adults struggle to eat well which affects long term health. Lack of ideas for simple, practical, healthy meals along with inappropriate portions of meals and snacks are a big part of poor eating. Providing visual images of what healthy, practical meals in appropriate portions is helpful for people trying to manage their weight and improve their diet.

The Adult Photo Resource provides a CD-Rom containing pictures of healthy meals and snacks on standard size plates giving a clear visual image of portions. These portions are based on average energy and nutrient requirements for adults. Health professionals can print these images to be used to educate individuals or food providers on appropriate portion sizes. Recipes are provided for all the meals and snacks presented in the photo cards.
