Health Fund Appeal: URGENT. Breast abcess removal
Shining Light charity (reg no.1138206) urgently needs donations for a young woman called Chantha in Slarkram village in the north of Cambodia, to have a breast abcess removed. We do not have any funding to pay for this, and if it not treated, it could lead to disfigurement and worse. PLEASE HELP
July 2012 - August 2012
Breast abcess removal in 28 year old woman in village in north of cambodia. The woman's name is Chantha and she has 2 small children and no income. The abcess is under the skin of the breast and it needs to be drained to allow the pus to leave. Abcesses like this normally begin with bacteria entering the breast during or after breastfeeding. This is most likely the case with Chantha who has a baby she is feeding.
The doctor has already examined her but he will not operate unless the $430 is paid.
Breast abcess removal costing $430 for woman in cambodian village with no money to pay for this.
Activities» Internet awareness campaign, here, on facebook (shining light charity) and writing emails. We only got news of this today, and the need is urgent.
Success will be...I will put up to date news on our facebook site and here.Obviously i am not going to post photos of a woman's scarred breast.
a woman gets better and her health improves. That is all we require from this appeal. In the unlikely event that anybody helps us more than we need, we will put that money into a health fund to help the village kids who get dengue fever in the monsoon season.
The only risks are not getting enough money to pay the doctor
i will report success here and on facebook, and if i have personal emails i will write to each donor and send a photo of chantha after her operation so the people donating can see the recovering woman who they have helped.

slarkram is a small rural village half an hour down a dirt track road from Battambang city in the north of cambodia. The woman we wish to help is known to the charity,as we have helped her and her baby before.
One woman will benefit, but if we get more funds than we require we will use them as a health fund to help village children with health problems such as dengue fever, and sickness caused by infections in water.
We have our contact living in the village who will pay the doctor on behalf of the lady, and will supply documentary evidence and photos to prove the job has been done. He has already sent a scanned copy of the initial diagnosis which we have.
