The Mount Tshiaberimu Conservation Project
The Mount Tshiaberimu Conservation Project (MTCP) was established by the Gorilla Organization in 1996 in collaboration with ICCN (Institut Congolais pour la Conservation de la Nature), to protect the population of gorillas and their habitat in the northern annex of the Virunga National Park that includes Mount Tshiaberimu. The project combines law enforcement with scientific research, environmental education and local community development, in an approach that characterises that of the Gorilla Organization in general.
