  • Need

The project is trying to solve our problem of a new premises.

If the project helps us to find a new premises then we will be able to continue to help the disadvantaged in the London Borough of Havering.

  • Aims

    Aim 1

    To provide a new premises.

» We need to initially speak to the London Borough of Havering to see if they can continue to help us.

Success will be securing a premises with a long term fixed lease.

  • Impact

It would bring us stability and continuity for the people in the London Borough of Havering.

We need to make sure that any rent that is agreed we have the funds to cover the rent.

We would not be in a position to sign any lease until we know that we have the means to pay the expenses.

We supply a periodic newsletter which will report to donors about the good work we are doing in the community.

  • Background

Harold Hill is a council estate in London Borough of Havering. Two thirds of the properties are probably now owned. It has a high rate of crime and is the most disadvantaged area in London Borough of Havering. It is predominately white British. The estate was built as an overflow after the war for people living in the east end of London.

Today in Harold Hill there are families struggling to put food on the table. For people on low incomes, a sudden crisis - redundancy, benefit delay or even an unexpected bill - can mean going hungry. Every day parents skip meals to feed their children and people are forced to choose between paying the rent and eating.

  • Why Us?

    Why Us?

We are an independent charity based in Harold Hill. I live in Harold Hill so I know the area and its problems well. We work with local churches and schools and as we are independent they are more willing to work with us than if we were working under the umbrella of say one church or one school.
