Kids Klub Expansion
We currently have 60 children on a deprived council estate and want to expand this to help the children integrate into other areas, provide increased family support and refurbish the existing facilities.
September 2012 - September 2013
The Branches Christian Fellowship
Teaching the children about Jesus
Children without anything to do.
Teaching them to value and respect others.
Encourage parents to interact positively with their children
Building links with the community
Understanding the wider needs of the community and where appropriate putting them in contact with other charities and social groups
Train other children's workers across the town.
The refurbished facilities and equipment will provide a better base for running the club, inviting parents to events and courses, and other children's workers for training.
Running weekly clubs for the children.
Organising regular parent and child activity sessions and prize giving events.
Building membership of the club with people from different areas to help them integrate in a safe, friendly environment.
Providing structured rules and activities to promote values and respect.
Build relationships with the families of the children
Activities» Run activity sessions for families and children such as crafts, cookery and play
» Run prize giving and performance events to demonstrate achievement and encouragement

Success will be families attending and participating in the events
To see children brought into the Church community
Activities» Run weekly Sunday school in addition to weekly clubs
» Encourage mentoring and role models from within the Churc
Success will be more children in the Sunday School and taking full part in community life in a positive way
To equip wider childrens work within Rochdale
Activities» Hold regular get togethers to encourage and provide a platform for learning and sharing
» Host specific training workshops on subjects such as Child Protection, first aid, story telling etc.
» Promote and run town wide events for the children to help integrate children across Rochdale and get workers collaborating together
Success will be one town wide event and 4 training courses run over the next 12 months
To increase the size of our own Kids Klub
Activities» Advertising the clubs to a wider area
» Increase and train the number of volunteers
» Provide a more exciting environment (better facilities)
Success will be to increase numbers from 60 to 100 and increasing the volunteers by 4
Children who currently grow up in an area where there is little hope and encouragement will understand they can achieve and be positive community role models.
Relationships between parents, children and other families will improve.
Success will be demonstrated by a clear reduction in :-
vandalism, petty crime, drug and alcohol usage, fighting and anti-social behaviour.
Children will go on to achieve better education results and a way out of the poverty trap.
Main risk is that volunteers are not available on the given times and dates and the future growth plans.
Mitigated this by gaining commitments from the trustees to stand in when necessary and distributing some of the activities to the wider church e.g. craft preparation.
Funders will receive a report six times a year (term times) detailing kids klub, parent and training activities and successes.

Smallbridge is located 3 miles from Rochdale town centre and is designated a deprived area (IMD 52 rating) with many young families. The Kids Klub offers a real outlet for the children and the families to work and play together in a positive environment
Mainly primary school children but toddlers and teens benefit from family work and activities.
Parents and carers are able to increase their self esteem and ability to handle day to day living.
Its a chance to experience real family values and community spirit
We have successfully held fundays and kids klub activities in the area for over 7 years and have built up good relationships with the community. We have undertaken door to door visits to ask what services and help people would like and having become the sole users of a former primary school we are now in a good position to expand the services. There are no similar council run facilities and no plans to do such.
