  • Need

Where we are based is a very deprived area, with little/no facilities for young people to access. The project will solve that problem and will get young people involved with the community/back to work and keep them off the streets, providing a safe environment for them to learn and grow and something which they can build on.

The Community Cafe will create community Cohesion. It will be run locally for locals and will provide a hub of activity around skill development and business enterprise. The community will be encouraged to get involved in initiatives and generating ideas around both sustainability and employment opportunities. It is hoped that the Community Cafe will also support other future initiatives such as access to the internet and support a Job Club offering jobs and training opportunities.

  • Aims

    Aim 1

Creating and increasing Job opportunites for young people

» By ensuring that training and job opportunities will be created for local people. Young people can access basic skills courses/accreditation's.

    What success will look like

Success will be measured by how many people gain outcomes, employment/training etc.

    Aim 2

Creating Community Cohesion between the young and old generation

» By running a luncheon club for older people once a week young people will prepare healthy food having developed cookery skills, breaking down barriers

    What success will look like

Success will be measured by attendance and feedback.

  • Impact

Creating a community Hub which will be self sufficient and long term, will be a place for everyone to benefit from. no other organisation in the area offers the services we do to the local community, hence why there is such a demand for our courses and workshops and as we are located in an area of high deprivation, low unemployment and high levels of crime our centre is essential to combating these issues and to continue, finding employment/ steering the youth away from gangs and gun/knife crime

There may be a risk of continuing the project after funds have been used, but we aim to seek further funding to ensure this project will continue and hope it to be self sufficient.

Through evaluation and monitoring processes. Funders will receive monthly progress reports of the project and case studies of particular people we have helped through the project.

We have a succesful track record and case studies of people we have helped and have constant referals for people wishing to access our sevices. Our annual Peace Concert has attendance of over 800 young people, all of whom are seeking help.
