as long as we have funds available
Charity information: Africa Goodwill Foundation
Human right violation especially child abuse, abduction of girls in schools for sex, rape has persisted for the last twenty years in Northern Uganda due to Lord's Resistance Army insurgency. The children in the whole districts have been hardly hit by this phenomenon. Girls face much of defilement, child torture, child trafficking, early marriages and denial of inheritance of property. This has persisted because of lack of personnel human right monitors.
By creating child rights awareness in schools through club meetings, training and debate among other core activities. This project will do a great deal in empowering children who are vulnerable to abuse, thus report cases to relevant authorities for intervention, strengthen the work of district Human promotion and protection. The project will also pave way to in the fulfillment of the recommendations of international and regional protocols on the rights of children and have hope for the future.

What success will look like
Success will be on Community dialogue meeting held on children's rights, ideas shared and lessons learnt, feed back given, education and wellbeing development encouraged.
The project will create a more responsive and sensitive community on issues of children's rights. We will demonstrate the success of this through increased reporting of child human rights abuse and violation cases to relevant authorities.
The number of people who have been convicted or punished by clan leader, local council and district courts for child rights abuse. This will be demonstrated through a reduction in the number of cases of child right abuse, defilement and early marriages
There is risk that some communities may not like the idea of practicing human rights like to cab early marriages because it's their culture and norm, rape cases may not be accepted back into the communities. However we have dealt with this through holding dialogue with the community and the children who may have a negative attitude towards formation of human right clubs by involving head teachers and patrons who will encourage them by raising awareness on these social issues
Africa Goodwill foundation will report to donors monthly by emailing monthly and periodic reports that highlight the successes and challenges of our work in Africa. We welcome personal and more regular contact with the donors who support the project through a significant partnership with the AGF.
