Activities» To train graduates of art + power's arts programmes to share their skills with yet more disabled and socially excluded people
Success will be the number of people trained, the degree to which it enables them to develop the capability to achieve their goals.
To engage more disabled people in the arts.
Activities» To support the trainers to put their new found skills into practice
Success will be the number of new people we have supported to engage in the arts and the increased capability they acquire.
art + power aims to end cultural exclusion by making it easier for people to achieve the things that matter to them. Participants will be supported to identify the capabilities that make it easier for them to achieve their goals. All programmes are then designed to achieve these capabilities.
Capability development strengthens engagement, increases career opportunities, and transforms the way people perceive disabled people.
There are risks associated with placing vulnerable people in positions of responsibility. It is particularly important that all concerned are clear about each persons role in the project and the vulnerabilities and access requirements of each individual. These will be dealt with by extensive training and support from a vastly experienced team of arts practitioners and social care providers.
Each project activity will be carefully documented. Donors will be able to follow progress through on-line blogs and will be able to receive a full project report. All projects demonstrate clear demand, measurable impact and value for money.
