  • Need

    Need

Alleviating disadvantage by helping small, ambitious charities and social enterprises help more people, more effectively.

    Solution

By matching and managing teams of senior business people who donate their time, Pilotlight gives local charities and social enterprises the business planning skills to thrive.

  • Aims

    Aim 1

Bring together the passion and expertise of the voluntary sector with the best business thinking.

    Activities

» Match and manage teams of senior business people as they coach charities and social enterprises through the business planning process.

Success will be stronger local charities and social enterprises and more committed, more philanthropic volunteers.

  • Impact

    Impact

Charities and social enterprises who work with Pilotlight will improve their business skills, experience income growth and increase their service users. Pilotlighters, the business people who coach, develop skills that benefit their professional life and donate more money to charities.

Success is demonstrated through Pilotlight's rigorous evaluation process.

    Risk

There is a risk that not enough charities and social enterprises commit to the coaching process or enough senior business people to serve as coaches. Pilotlight manages these risks by maintaining close links with both the voluntary and business sectors through an active recruitment process.

    Reporting

Donors will receive an annual evaluation report which will report the impact of the Pilotlight process on both the charities and social enterprises and on the business people who volunteer their time as coaches.
