artWise Creative Cultural Hub
Access to arts and cultural activities have the power to change lives. The artWise Creative Cultural Hub (ACCH) will deliver a year around programme of activities and offer other services (in collaboration with local agencies) for our target communities and the wider public to access, in Haringey.
Provision of community arts initiatives in Haringey has been severely affected due to the recession and funding cuts. This has led to a dramatic decrease in opportunities for people from lower income groups to see or participate in artistic activities. The inability to access such activities has increased social isolation and disenfranchisement of people from marginalised groups such as the elderly, LGBT, BAME or younger people and has had a detrimental effect on local artists and the economy.
The ACCH will run an annual programme of activities including art exhibitions skills building / fitness workshops & training programmes access to information / advice for local communities. Located centrally in Haringey, activities will commence in July 2012. The events will be programmed with the support of local communities and other agencies and will provide a much needs boost to the local economy by engaging local artists, community groups and schools, to help deliver activities.
Establish the ACCH by July 2012
Activities» · Run a wide programme of actives that include multiple showcase events throughout the year.
» · Involve local communities and other service providers in the planning and delivery of activities.
Success will be getting 5,000+ visitors and participants per annum, to access the range of observatory and participatory activities.
The organisation will provide access the arts, health and skills building training for diverse communities in one of London's most deprived Boroughs with additional services provided by other agencies to help give a much-needed boost to those working within the creative industries in Haringey.
Success will be measured using the comprehensive project monitoring and evaluation systems, developed by independent consultants, and evaluated by a dedicated ACCH management committee and service users
The principal risk to the project is that of a lack access to the range of activities and initiatives that will be on offer. To help deal with this we are working with both Haringey Library & Cultural services, local umbrella bodies for voluntary organisations and other local and regional networks to help disseminate information on the service and encourage access.
Donors for ACCH will receive a monthly email report detailing the ongoing and forthcoming activities and any necessary changes that have been made to the project plans.
