To offer appropriate skills training to enable homeless clients to re-integrate into the community with dignity through work.

    Homelessness in the Slough area


    Crisis care to stabilise clients lives by providing food, clothing and assistance to find accommodation and tackle other problems. Once stable, clients can sign up for skills training and assistance to secure employment.

    Success will be clients in permanent accommodation and receiving treatment for their issues.

    Enrol clients on skills training courses


    » A variety of appropriate skills training is offered to clients in an environment where clients feel they are treated with care and respect.

    What success will look like

    Success will be clients completing over 200 training courses in 2012

    Clients secure employment


    » Facilities to search for jobs, help with cv writing, help with providing clothes for interviews.

    What success will look like

    Success will be more than 20 clients gaining employment in 2012

  • Impact


    The long term change is a life turned round from homelessness to the independence and dignity of work.


    The risks are that charitable giving falls below what is necessary to keep offering training courses. We have dealt with this by diversifying our funding streams


    Funders can receive a 6 monthly email report, detailing the number of clients housed, clients on training courses and number of clients that have secured employment

    There are 5 areas in Slough that fall within the 20% most deprived areas in England for multiple deprivation


    Individuals who are homeless or vulnerable to being homeless benefit from the chance to turn their lives around.. The general community benefits from the safety net SHOC offers to stop people from sleeping on the streets.
