United Kingdom Poverty Solutions Map
We want to map those areas that show worst unemployment and worst chances for vocational training. Finally we want to make a convergent maps showing both, this map being a target area for hotspot. We have a map for London presentable to donors and all Members of Parliament.
January 2012 - January 2013
“All I can tell you is that me, myself and the group I was in, none of us have got jobs. I’ve been out of work now for coming up 2 years, 18 months…. look this is what’s gonna happen if there’s no jobs offered to us out there.”
22 year old male London rioter, summer 2011
The UK Poverty Solutions Map will provide a scientifically valid as well as visually compelling approach to targeting unemployment in the hotspots. The map will demonstrate clearly where further vocational training is required, in order to help reduce unemployment.
The map can be given to MPs and social leaders and a huge variety of philanthropists and social activists.
Creation of a multilayer map showing overlaps of worst unemployment and worst vocational training.

There are very few risks. We have asked for donors to step forward but none have done so yet. So we will continue to make the map regardless.
If we had the cash, we could make the map very much more quickly as well as disseminate it quickly and more effectively.
We think that in a double dip recession this is a useful tool.
There is no proof of action - like a completed map.
We would agree to complete the map to a deadline.
