Less stress kitchen for the over 50's dinner club.
A Welsh community association is seeking funds to improve the kitchen of the community hall it maintains. Serving dinners at its weekly over 50 lunch club for the last 3 years has proven that the current set-up is very stressful to work in for the team of mostly lady volunteers that do the cooking.

The ladies who do the cooking for the over 50's club are not spring chickens but do a great job all the same. The problem is that the original kitchen was designed by a man and left much to be desired. As such the call has been made for a kitchen that can be worked in without the levels of stress currently been created by a lack of space and a poor original layout.
After approaching four companies and asking them to provide a design that meets with the ladies approval, one has been selected.
The timetable for the refit is scheduled to take place during a planned break during August 2012.
Currently we are approaching various funding bodies to see if we can obtain any percentage of funding for the project.
To have built an almost stress free kitchen.

What success will look like
Cooking in the hall kitchen will be less of a stressful time.
The project is mostly about moving the small working kitchen from a domestic set-up to a semi professional one; meeting health and safety guidelines and enabling the voluntary workforce of mainly ladies in there 50's, 60's and 70's to cut down on the amount of stress the current kitchen provides while they cook dinners for members of the Over 50's Dinner Club, which meets once a week, and for other community events that take place through the year. The project completion will meet goals set.
Careful consideration has gone into this project. The risks are considered low.
If the chosen company is unable to commit to this project then a second company out of the four considered will be chosen.
Costings on this project have been looked at and discussed in detail.
Possibility of the project coming over budget have been looked into.
Happy to set out a report with photos and comments from the ladies who use the kitchen.
