Provision of beds & cots for struggling families
Imagine not having a bed to sleep in! We are seeking funding for new beds, the provision of beds for themselves and for their children is one of the most basic needs our clients have, but not enough good quality beds are donated.
Charity information: The Furniture Station
Due to health and safety reasons, we are limited to the number of beds we can accept from donors, and can only supply new cots. With a high demand for such essential items, there is a waiting list for those which do come in.
We therefore need to seek funding to purchase new beds and cots for our clients. It costs just £65.00 to purchase a single bed and £99.00 for a double bed, cots are £110. Our target for funding these items is £7,000.
To provide disadvantaged people in Stockport with the essential item of a bed or a cot.
Activities» We will achieve this through acquiring the minimum budget of £7,000 for the 2012 for new beds & cots and maintain to meet the increasing demand.
Success will be meeting the growing demand of beds and cots.
This project will allow the opportunity for a good night’s sleep and for babies to sleep in safety. It is also evident from these services that a large majority of clients maintain their tenancies.
With an increasing demand for beds; not enquiring enough funding for the project may result in not meeting the growing demand.
Newsletters are sent twice a year to supporters; an annual Report is produced every Summer which report on the activities & projects. Updates are provided via Facebook and twitter, and a monthly newsletter from the website's news feed can be sent electronically every month.

I felt I’d been given a bit of a head start with a bit of help and comfort – I don’t honestly think I’d have stayed at my flat with no bed and bedding
