  • Need

    Need

Chickenshed believes that everyone is entitled to further education. Yet recent increases in tuition fees mean that many young people now cannot afford to participate in higher education. Children with complex or multiple disabilities are at additional risk of exclusion from mainstream education settings.

    Solution

Education for All will provide bursaries for disabled and disadvantaged young people to participate in our performing arts educational programmes. Bursaries will help these youth receive the same learning opportunities in life as other young people.

  • Aims

    Aim 1

provide access to higher education for young people of disadvantage and/or disability.

    Activities

» Chickenshed will offer 9 bursaries to students experiencing socio-economic hardship, and complex or mulitple disabilities.

Success will be when students who receive a bursary attain a nationally recognised qualification at Chickenshed.

  • Impact

    Impact

Students who receive a bursary and graduate from a Chickenshed educational course will feel more confident in their abilities; have an increased sense of self-worth and independence; and have the tools to lead a more fulfilling life.

    Risk

Further increases in tuition fees will also increase the need for bursaries for students who may face barriers because of education level, financial disposition or disability.

    Reporting

Donors will receive an annual report, with testimonials from bursary recipients, sharing their personal stories and successes.
