Manchester Multifaith Centre

Our faith awareness work and social action have inspired people and improved positivity to different faiths. We will create a Multifaith Centre where people of all faiths and none can meet, learn from each other, develop mutual respect and plan joint work. Joint work with schools, youth and others.

January 2012 - December 2015

The Multifaith Centre will contribute to Manchester being a very inclusive City with greater awareness of different faiths.
    •Challenge public apathy/antipathy to faith
•Run activities in partnership with other organisations
    •Provide meeting/small conference/training facilities for other organisations
•Contribute to positive perception of Manchester through involvement in ‘I Love Mcr’ and other initiatives.

    Risk

There is a risk that the Multifaith Centre could be seen as a place of worship. We have dealt with this risk by listening to those who took part in the consultation and have designated a nearby room outside the Centre as a place for multifaith worship.

Funders of this project will receive a quarterly email report on the project detailing the ongoing and forthcoming activities, and any necessary changes that have been made to the project plans.
