Community Based Nurse - Raising Awareness
Public health strategy and is influenced by a range of health and safety legislation, so as part of our fundraising initiative this year, we will be raising funds for a Community Nurse, to engage the public in disease awareness, and assist with education material for use in and by the community.
UCARE [Urology Cancer Research and Education]
Key to successful treatment is early diagnosis and treatments, so our part in educating the public on what to look out for in the signs and symptoms of urological cancers, help people make improved life style choices, and to give advice on seeking early intervention.
This new post will work according to national and local guidelines and maximise all contributions to health improvement and delivery of information for the community.
The health care needs of the community are at the forefront of the UCARE charitable object.

Visit local visit schools, colleges, universities, clubs, societies, associations etc
Activities» eg. Programmes for testicular cancer to young men, or promote awareness of prostate cancer to an older age group of men

Based on best practice and using a proactive approach which encourages individuals and communities to adopt behaviours that promote and encourage healthy lifestyles and wellness; assessing the progress can be made by asking people who receive service and support if they feel more confident in their knowledge and if this is also reflected in those who approach their doctors for earlier intervention.
Public health strategy is influenced by a range of health and safety legislation, which will be covered in the appointment process. Also, national and local guidelines will be used for the information to adhere to NHS guidelines etc.
Reporting on the post will be available on annual review of the post, and also at any other time which can be organised with donors at their request.
