TRAX Off road
To provide 3 x mud buggies for our off road track. We work with the most vulnerable and disadvantaged young people in the county.
Charity information: Oxfordshire Motor Project
TRAX works with young people with mutiple barriers to development and 'moving on'. Some of this is related to low self - esteem and lack of opportunity to participate in activities, this maybe due to having a disability or coming from a deprived background. As well as offering mechanics, issue based group work and a variety of other activities, we want to offer a fun activity as a reward for good behaviour.
It will provide young people with a fun activity to reward them for all the hard they have done at TRAX. They will be used as an incentive and team building activity. Young people will also work on the maintenance an look after the buggies and equipment which will have an associated qualification.
To increase the self - esteem of disadvantaged, marginalised and vulnerable young people
Activities» Provide an off road positive activity where young people can enjoy a new activity gaining new skills and supporting each other
What success will look like
Success will be if young peoples behaviour improves due to the possibility of driving the mud buggies
Positive behaviour leading to increased skills and educational achievement amoungst 'hard to engage' young people in Oxfordshire. This will be demonstrated through young people achievements educationally, personally and socially.
The risks are not buying the right equipment We have done alot of research to ensure we buy the right buggies suitable for young people and at a reasonable price.

The project is located in Oxford City but we work with young people from all over Oxfordshire. The location has a large paddock which we hae converted into an off road track. Oxfordshire has pockets of urban deprivation and rural isolation and associated problems in these areas.
Young people aged 13 -21 from areas of deprivation and rural isolation will benefit from this project.
TRAX has been running for 20 years and has built up a great reputation amongst young people and local organisations. We have much experience working with this client group, dedicated staff and a great venue.
