  • Need

To build a self-funding Children's House for deprived children and orphans in Nepal.

It will allow a number of children to be housed and educated in a safe supporting environment whilst also providing employment within the local community and encouraging family contact and care.

  • Aims

    Aim 1

To build a self-funding house for the benefit of orphans, semi-orphans and single parents in Nepal.

» inspire & encourage the EFT community to raise £400,000, through a variety of activities, to sponsor building a Children's House in their name.

Success will be seeing the first self-funding house built and resonating with the sound of laughter coming from happy children, professional carers, visitors and volunteers.

  • Impact

The project will ultimately create a self-funding community that provides a secure and stable home and education to deprived children and orphans. It will alleviate poverty and deprivation whilst also providing an option for single parents to play a part in their children's lives and education, and wellbeing.

Children's Houses aims to guide and support the newly developed project in becoming a thriving, independent and self sufficient community.

There are numerous risks to the project as we are working in a developing country with very different regulations to those of the UK. However, we have good connections within the Nepalese community in Pokhara (the intended site of the first Children's House), & the Kathmandu valley, as well as with other UK charities who have been generous with their advice and support. Children's Houses Foundation has a strong Board of Trustees and an NGO will be established in Nepal to oversee the project.

Online updates will be available at and other related sites (e.g. Facebook).
