WEA Culture of Arts

WEA Culture of Arts is a programme that aims to create a series of interrelated arts activities to explore the cultural diversity of Liverpool’s communities. Its objectives are to celebrate the diversity of people’s lives and encourage involvement in the arts at whatever level is appropriate to the participant or group.

It will focus primarily on those groups with no or limited engagement in community art based projects. The target groups will be identified through existing WEA networks across the City and in consultation with voluntary sector organisations. Groups the project will work with include:

People over 50, particularly those who live alone.

Domestic Violence Groups.

Homeless People.

Family learning particularly father and children groups.

Disability groups including mental health, learning and physical disabilities including sensory impairment.

Refugees or Asylum Seekers.
