Save our Zoo
We have no option but to leave our current site where we have been for over 20 years due to a new 5* hotel. Rather than closing and possibly having to put down the animals we are raising money to build a new zoo of which we have planning permission for.
November 2011 - July 2012
Environment Concern Organisation
Due to a new 5* hotel being built we have been told we need to relocate after being there over 20 years. The council and everyone is supportive and we have a new site, we now need the money to build the new zoo and rain forest. Therefore we are looking to raise £2,000,000
The new zoo and rain forest will be bigger and better, we have partners in Kew to help us with the rain forest, and we will be able to house more animals - saving their lives. The improved facilities will also mean we can accommodate more schools and educate further in our own unique interactive way.
Not to have to close the zoo and rain forest - but relocate. Therefore saving lives
Activities» Raise £2,00,000 to build the new premises, of which planning permission has already been granted.

Success will be... visitors having a better understanding of animals and the rain forest, conservation and have a fun enjoyable time
Create an environment that is unique, fun and enjoyable for all
Activities» There are opportunities to interact with the animals. With Kew helping with the rain forest we will make an exceptional design and utilise space well
Success will be... a range of visitors from all walks of like, making it accessible for all and to learn in a fun way. A place they want to come back again and again.
We will increase the number of visitors to our zoo, bringing in more money to the local area. House more animals, plant more plants. Help educate about animals and conservation so people think twice and are more informed. Create new jobs - as the zoo expands we want to retain the intimate friendly and helpful feel when anyone visits our zoo.
We have paid for the architect drawings and planning permission has been approved. Everyone who is helping to get the new zoo relocated is doing so for free. We have an experienced team to manage the whole process, ranging from financiers, to quantity surveyors to construction specialists. The other main risk is moving the animals, if we only have to move them once their success rate of survival is higher.
Through our website we will be providing regular weekly updates with photographs. We are also happy to issue a newsletter.

Hounslow Urban Farm is one of London's largest community farms, based off Faggs Road, Feltham, Middlesex, TW14 0LZ. We are aiming to add to this by building our zoo and rain forest. The land covers 29 acres it is an important educational resource and leisure facility for all the family.
The local community will benefit strongly from this as it is an attraction and we will be able to utilise the land more efficiently. It will bring more money in to the local community from visitors. In terms of conservation this will be beneficial, as we will be preserving indigenous animals as well as tropical ones and respective plant life.
We have successfully run a zoo for over 20 years, and have the experience, desire and passion to continue this. Saving animals and plants, increasing awareness through education are all objectives. We have the local authority and council support, planning permission, and a great team. Therefore we believe we are very well placed to carry out this project now and in to the future. We have over 60,000 visitors a year and over 14,000 school children. We believe these will move with us.
