Project information

Young Liverpool

To create 30 Training placements with Global Corporations. These placements will be assigned to young candidates that leave school without a clear focus and at risk of straying down the wrong life path. Team Oasis will administer the project and if successful could develop to an annual programme.

  • Need

    Need

We are looking to have a positive impact on a small percentage of young people that might otherwise leave senior school without a life plan or any sort of strategy. What we are seeking to achieve is to secure short term employment/training placements for up to 30 young people each year. We are approaching this local challenge with a global dimension. Therefore we are looking for potentially hundreds of international organisations that might be prepared to support this programme.

    Solution

This is a really exciting programme and when one considers the value of travel experience, experiencing other cultures, meeting new people, realising your own potential then I do believe that this project, with your support, can make a massive difference to young lives that might otherwise, for a number of reasons, meander into less positive paths. In the first instance we would be planning to centre this programme around young people attending certain inner city Liverpool School.

  • Aims

    Aim 1

To encourage, support and develop a positive focus for the young people involved.

    Activities

» Identify and engage with the young people. Explain our vision and our hope for them to achieve their potential through this Young Liverpool project.

Success will be...identify and motivate 30 young people that where previously apathetic to a working future

    Aim 2

To identify 100 Global Corporations to sign up to our Young Liverpool vision.

    Activities

» Using every network at our disposal to promote Young Liverpool and our need for sponsors on a Global scale

Success will be... securing a network of 100 Global Corporation partners agreeing to support this project as placement providers

    Aim 3

To implement bespoke training for the young people involved.

    Activities

» Using every network partner at our disposal to invest in training for each young person enrolled on the Young Liverpool project.

Success will be...achieving training that fits the requirement of our global placement provider

    Aim 4

To chapperone our young person to their destination training provider.

    Activities

» Regular communication with our training provider will ensure a smooth transition to training employment for our young person.

Success will be...achieving a settled young person in placement with one of our placement providers

    Aim 5

To monitor, support and ultimately recieve our young person back home and support them to employment

    Activities

» Through our developing network of local employment partners we would strive to ensure future training placements/ employment for our returning client

Success will be... to welcome home a motivated young person, enlightened in other world cultures and with a resolve to build a strong working future for themselves.

The project involves employment risks as well as travel risks. But each placement will have a slightly different set of risk to administer. This shall be undertaken with bespoke risk assessment procedures.

    Reporting
