ST.ANDREA DEVELOPMENT project
THIS PROJECT IS TO ENABLE HOUSEHOLDS TO IMPROVE THEIR STANDARD OF LIVING. 18 HOUSEHOLDS OF ST.ANDREA GROUP WHICH HAS A POPULATION OF ABOUT 100 PEOPLE, THE COMMUNITY WILL BENEFIT BY GENERATING INCOME VIA WORKING AGRICULTURAL PROJECTS.

THE MAIN PROBLEM IN THIS RURAL VILLAGE IS HUNGER AND UNEMPLOYMENT.
THE PROJECT WILL PROVIDE EMPLOYMENT AND AND PRODUCE FOOD FOR THE LOCAL COMMUNITY.
TO ENABLE THE LOCAL COMMUNITY TO BECOME SELF SUSTAINING.

What success will look like
Success will be...ALL THE 18 HOUSEHOLDS HAVE AT LEAST ONE ACRE PIECE OF LAND FOR FARMING FOR AT LEAST ONE YEAR, ALL THE HOUSEHOLDS HAVE HARVESTED THEIR CROPS AND HAVE INCOME.
To improve the general conduct of younger people giving them activities which will benefit them.
Activities» Actively involve young people in the learning and growing of crops.
What success will look like
Success will be... GENERAL CONDUCT WILL HAVE IMPROVED AND YOUNG PEOPLE WILL HAVE LEARNED LIFE SKILLS FOR NOW AND INTO THE FUTURE.
IMPROVED HEALTH, IMPROVED EDUCATION LEVELS, IMPROVED LONG TERM FUTURE OPPORTUNITIES.
Adverse weather conditions can damage crop and reduce yields. It is hoped that this will be mitigated by the inclusion of the irrigation ele,ment of the project.

THE PROJECT IS LOCATED IN KENYA, NYANZA PROVINCE, KISUMU EAST DISTRICT, KADIBO DIVISION, IN KAWINO SOUTH LOCATION, UGWE SUBLOCATION, IN KANDARIA VILLAGE, NEXT TO KANDARIA PRIMARY SCHOOL WHERE ST.ANDREA DEVELOPMENT AND YOUTH GROUP OPERATES FROM.
THE PROJECT WILL WHEN IT IS SUCCESSFUL COVER HEALTH SERVICES, SHELTER, NUTRITIONAL NEEDS, AND CLOTHING FOR EACH HOUSEHOLD. THE 18 HOUSEHOLDS WILL ALSO AFFORD SCHOOL FEES AND SCHOOL RELATED EXPENDITURES SUCH AS SCHOOL UNIFORMS IN PRIMARY AND SECONDARY SCHOOLS. THE HOUSEHOLDS CAN ALSO FUND RAISE AMONG THEMSELVES TO PAY SCHOOL FEES & UNIFORMS FOR CHILDREN.
Mission International has a strong and successful relationship with our partners in Kenya who know the beneficiaries personally and who are managing this project on the ground.
