Young Carers' Project
Halton Carers' Centre commenced a Young Carers' in Transition Project in October 2010. The project identifies and supports young carers between the ages of 15-24,particularly in the areas of health, education, socialising, finances and work,enabling them to make a smooth transition into adulthood.

Young carers often struggle to makwe a smooth transition into adulthood as they tend to put the person they care for first. Many young carers perform poorly at school and do not continue education after 16.They often exclude themselves from social activities and struggle to find work and manage their finances
The project is already proving successful with 180 new young carers identified in Halton via local schools. One to one support, activities and tailored awareness courses improve young carers confidence,targets the five areas of; health,education,socialising,finances and work and empowers them to be the best they can be in life, all whilst continuing in their caring role.

We aim to see an improvement in the lives of young carers across all the five areas detailed earlier. These areas will be monitored and evaluated
