  • Need

    Need

Since the theatre opened on the 8th April 1982 to the same time in 2012 it is estimated that over 2,109, 927 (two million one hundred nine thousand nine hundred twenty-seven) would have sat in the theatre seats and moved around front of house. Due to huge footfall and general wear and tear the interior of the building is looking very tired and in places becoming a health and safety hazard. We understand that to maintain our audiences and attract new ones we must update our FOH areas.

    Solution

In the main auditorium we will renovate the theatre style seating with reformed cushioning and new upholstering. We will use a professional theatre renovation company to ensure that the refit is in-keeping with the original design of the building. We will also improve the wheelchair accessible spaces to incorporate companion seating. Phase two, will replace the carpets in the public areas along with redecorating. The results will help us maintain a high level of customer experience.

  • Impact

    Impact

Updating the seating and FOH areas will mean that we can continue to maintain our regular customers and attract new audiences. It will help us generate new income and allow us to reinvest into our creative learning and theatre production stands. It will allow us to continue being a welcoming theatre and meeting space for the community and many others. We will be able to measure the success through comment cards, questionnaires and also track increased footfall.

    Risk

If we don’t raise enough money we will not be able to refit the entire theatre at the same time.

    Reporting

We will be able to report monthly with photos and progress reports via email and newsletters. We will also be able to show before and after images.
