  • Need

Due to funding cuts we had many musicians and performers who have been performing for us voluntarily for the last three years at a loose end, this project was set up so their talent wouldn't be wasted.

2.1% of people in Somerset are unemployed 5.7% are under the age of 24. These people have nothing to do and very little self esteem.
this project will give them work experience and get them motivated, it will also improve their self esteem and self worth.

This project creates many different volunteering opportunities, there are the opportunities for performers but also many for people who want to be involved but don't feel that performance is for them, some of these are Stewarding, sound engineers, media crew e.c.t

This project will tackle the unemployment problem in Somerset by giving people experience to put on their CVs and improve their work History's.

  • Aims

    Aim 1

To improve the self esteem and job chances of local people

» By Volunteering this improves peoples self esteem and work experience.

Improved numbers of employment and local people achieving more.

    Aim 2

To Raise money for Local Charities

» Performers give % of what they earn to Local charities. Their Transport cost comes out of the money earned.

To raise lots of money for local charities and hel[p them in this time of financial need.

  • Impact

The long term changes are that more people are employed, local charities have more money and the community comes together more as a unit.
We will ask people for case studies to see how the project has impacted on their life.

There is a risk that we will not reach enough volunteers. I have dealt with this risk by advertising well.

We are very used to reporting for different projects. I think the best way to report would be with amounts of people who have benefited from the project.
