December 2011 - January 2013
Charity information: Happy Days Children's Charity
The children we are trying to help by proving these special trips have very little life and leisure experiences and most have never had the opportunity to visit a theatre to see a live production. There are many positive outcomes for the children, for example: improving social interaction skills and social inclusion, taking part in an activity more enjoyed by the wider community, helping to relieve poverty. These trips play a vital role in the children's future development into adulthood.
By the children participating in the trips they will experience live performing arts productions. This in tuen will stretch their imaginations to a new dimension. The children, after the trips, will be able to express the enjoyment through art, english and drama. The trips to the panto are great morale boosters for the children and they come home with a more positive attitute, which invariably sparks off an immediate improvment in their physical and mental well being.
To provide trips to the theatre to see pantomines for children and young people with special needs.
Activities» We will provide trips to the theatre to see pantomines for children with special needs who are further living in poverty.
Success will be demonstrated by us receiving especially devised monitoring forms completed by the key carers along with drawings, letters and pictures completed by the children.
The children and young people will benefit in the longer term by improved social behaviour, new life skills and improved understanding of the arts, being amongst the wider community in a safe environment. The children will benefit from improved self esteem and self confidence having had access to enrichment activities, helping to overcome social exclusion and economic disadvantage.
There are no significant risks in the activity
We will report back as soon as the children are booked to take part in the activity and once the activity has taken place so that the donors can see from the letters. monitoring forms and drawings the benefit that the children have experienced.
