Improving Patient Care at Pilgrims Canterbury
To enable us to provide better care and improved facilities for our patients we need to reconfigure and refurbish our hospice in Canterbury.
January 2012 - December 2012
Charity information: Pilgrims Hospices in east Kent
Our hospice in Canterbury is housed in former school sanitorium. When we first opened in 1982 we provide a inpatient service only. However over the years we have developed our services to better meet the needs of our patients and we now offer Rapid Response Hospice at Home, Day Hospice, Respite Care, Support for Carers, Outpatient Consultations, Complementary Therapies, Social Work, Bereavement Services and Diversional Therapies.
We will reconfigure, redesign and refurbish to offer more consulting rooms, more private spaces for patients and families, introduce a coffee shop facility and improve access.
To better meet the needs of our patients and their carers and family members.
Activities» Reconfigure, redesign and refurbish.
What success will look like
Improved care for patients as well as better facilities for carers and family members.
We will be able to care for more patients with complex needs.
We need to raise, in additional to our general running costs, an additional £250,000, this might take longer than twelve months.
We will keep donors updated on the progress of the project by monthly emails and our bi-annual Pilgrims Matters . At the end of the project all donors will be invited to the opening.
