Compass Disability Services - Website Access

To enable our website to be accessed by Deaf people who use British Sign Language for communication. We would like to have a video with the information put to sign language to ensure that everyone can access it.

    To ensure our website is accessible to all disabled people and those who use BSL as their first language.


    By using a qualified BSL interpreter to interpret the Network part of our website it will ensure that the information is available to view via a visual link.

  • Impact


    This will assist us to achieve our mission to enable disabled people to have equality of opportunity. Improved communication will increase participation with the Deaf community and provide a chance for Deaf people to have an input into consultation events enabling a wider representation of people’s views. The results of increased participation will be demonstrated in our Annual Membership Evaluation and Annual Consultation Meeting Evaluation Reports.


    Risk of misinterpretation of data, however by using qualified interpreters this will ensure all document and information are signed professionally.


    We would respond to any particular requirements that a donor has. Ordinarily we would report once the piece of work has been undertaken with a budget showing income against expenditure.

    Compass Disability Services are a User Led Organisation. Our Network works across Somerset and North Somerset. We have over 1300 individual members and over 160 Associate Members of the organisation. We work through consultation and representation to improve access and inclusion to all services. We work in partnership with local government, the Health service, Social Services and other voluntary and charitable organisation
