  • Need

    Need

There are an estimated 1.5 million people with a learning disability in the UK. Our beneficiaries are aged from 10 to 60 plus. Many are subject to multiple disadvantages including economic hardship, which also affects the people supporting them and are also highly vulnerable to intimidation and bullying. Many also face limited cultural and social opportunities, inhibiting their chances of developing individual talent and self-esteem.

    Solution

By offering more people with learning disabilities opportunities to create art, take part and train.3 key projects which we will be investing in will be an international Paralympic project, an adults taking part creative arts project and the mentoring and professional development of an artist. Through this work we will help reduce the isolation of people with learning disabilities, improve their confidence and self esteem and raise the visibility of disability culture, reducing fear and ignorance

  • Aims

    Aim 1

To raise £25,000 by our 25th birthday in December so we can continue to touch and change lives.

    Activities

» We will be fundraising, so we will be writing and emailing our contacts asking for donations.
» We have also produced a film detailing how we have touched and changed people’s lives, so people can tangibly see the impact we have on people’s lives
» We be holding a big celebration in December and again will be creating ‘moments’ in the evening where the audience can give.

    Success will be...achieving our target.

  • Impact

    Impact

People with learning disabilities people achieving and making a positive contribution to society. Learning disabled people offered meaningful positions leading to personal change such as independent living, securing work in mainstream organisations and accessing further training. More artists showing their work in in mainstream venues. Success will be demonstrated with our thorough monitoring and evaluation methods. We will work closely with our artists and participants to track their progress.

    Risk

The biggest risk would not be acheiving the target. However we have dealt with this by creating a strategy plan for the project ensuring all avenues are looked at to ensure the target is reached.

    Reporting

Donors will be asked to sign up to our monthly newsletters which will have details of the appeal and the ways in which we will use their donations.
