To empower the poorest and most vulnerable people in Sub-Saharan Africa to earn their own sustainable livelihoods. To develop our work to helps thousands in desperate need due to discrimination, disability, HIV status or recovering from conflict or natural disaster

Tackling the underlying causes of poverty by helping people rebuild their lives, after conflict or natural disaster, people facing discrimination, people with disabilities and/or affected by HIV aids, women in rural areas and people living in harsh environmental conditions.
By giving the poorest and most vulnerable men and women the skills, knowledge and self confidence to earn a livelihood and provide food, shelter, medicine and education for their children. Our projects improve lives, giving current and future generations the chance of a future
To help the poorest people help themselves by generating a sustainable income for their basic needs
Activities» By giving people access to skills training, knowledge, legal advice; building their self esteem to enable them to set up their own small enterprises
What success will look like
By expanding our projects to transform the lives many more men, women and children and monitoring the beneficiaries through evaluation procedures
To build the capacity of local partners in order to ensure long term sustainability of our work
Activities» Encourage local partners to drive the work. Use our experience and links with other partners and organisations to strengthen their ability to do this

Success will be by building partnerships through monitoring and evaluation procedures
Thousands of people will improve their lives by setting up their own small enterprises or increased opportunities for employment, empowering them to provide for their families.
Enabling capacity to be built with local partners to sustain impact, whether as NGOs or within the private sector, is incorporate as a key element of our work
When grants from Comic Relief or The Big Lottery for specific projects have ended, it is difficult to raise unrestricted funds to continue to develop and expand the projects to help many more people.
APT is developing its fundraising to secure unrestricted donations to enable projects to be further developed
Through emails, newsletters and mailings and by giving news of development on our website and through social media
