  • Need

introducing water sports,as well as health and fitness to the young people of Keighley as there is no water sports facilities in the immediate area that is available.Peoples impression of sports like sailing,is that it is a rich-mans sport, and they will not be able to afford participation

the Keighley Sea Cadets will run a series of weekend courses in sailing, kayaking, and rowing,at very low cost.We will be involving the local schools and youth clubs as well as the local population to dispel the myth that these sports cost a lot of money to participate in,and eventually create a generation of healthier young people in Keighley

    » sailing as activity one
» rowing as activity one and two

» rowing. to arrange week ends with NGB qualified instructors

  • Impact

to make it easier for people to participate in water sports, and to put in there reach facilities that are not normally available to people in land locked areas. To provide a sports path for them to follow that's affordable. This will be monitored by the amount of qualifications gained. and the amount of time spent on water. We estimate that at least 12%will go on to take up there chosen sport

the biggest risk is the British weather but this can be overcome by holding theory lessons inside our building.

by e-mail with details of qualifications gained, and hours spent on water by the participant's and any details of people who have taken the sports as a hobby
