Hardship fund - Trauma counselling
To provide those with counselling who cannot afford to pay for it. Many victims of sexual abuse have health and mental health issues which are debilitating and stop them from working. Our experience is that with counselling some clients go on to lead healthy fulfilling normal lives.
August 2011 - September 2012
One in Four
Many individuals who have suffered sexual abuse/violence are in the NHS Mental health system. Some use drugs and alcohol to cope. Our experience is that with long term specialised therapy many go on to lead healthy fulfilling lives.
It provides a specialised long term setting in which individuals can explore their issues, process and work through them. They then have choices and autonomy to change. One in four specialises in trauma therapy giving up to 2 years face to face counselling and psychoeducational caoching, mentoring and training
To provide a safe space for those who want to work through their trauma
Activities» Offer face to face individual weekly sessions

During therapy we assess how a client is doing by completing regular reviews and targets. At the end of counselling clients provide feedback which we collate for monitoring purposes.
That clients are not ready to engage with their hurt. That they may still be using. Regualr review and an opportunity to be signposted to other appropriate services if not engaging.
By whatever means they suggest. usually by quarterly report.
