Cardiff Met Development Fund
The Development Fund has been established to enable all our alumni and friends to make a difference. From supporting ground breaking medical research to helping those in need with a scholarship or bursary, all donations make a huge impact.
Charity information: Cardiff Metropolitan University
All universities are under increasing financial pressure and Cardiff Met is no different. Many students are struggling to meet their cost of living and therefore not reaching their academic potential. Vital research projects are not going ahead due to the lack of sufficient funding. Campus resources and facilities are no longer providing for the needs of our local community.
The donations we receive do not replace government funding, but enable projects and activity that otherwise wouldn’t go ahead. The work that is funded here through donations can really transform lives. The Development Fund will distribute the money it has raised on an annual basis to support four priority areas.
Reduce the financial burden placed on students so they are able to reach their academic potential.

Donations to the Development Fund do not replace governement funding, but they make a difference by creating opportunities that would otherwise not be possible. While the Development Fund addresses the immediate needs of the University's students, in the long term it aims to make a real difference to people's lives. This will be through the impact of our research, community outreach and scholarships.
The Cardiff Met Development Fund faces the risk of not raising enough funds to meet the increasing need. We try to deal with this by ensuring we communicate the need for the Development Fund and the impact it can have. We hope that by showing what a difference just a small gift will make, others are inspired to give.
Each donor will receive a twice yearly newsletter, which reports on what projects and activity have been able to go ahead through their generosity. The newsletter aims to show the impact that philanthropy can have at Cardiff Met and how it can transform lives.
