Waste Water Treatment Education Project
This project will inform and inspire over 3000 school pupils about how to be create sustainable waste system in a rural environment. The installation of a new Waste water treatment plant on the Children's activity centre site and to use it as an practical and educational tool, in the

The current waste water system is about to fail and the Environmental Agency are working with us to replace the current system.
Without a new waste water system the centre will not be able to operate in the future!
The new plant has a guarantee that the discharge will be under the EA requirements.

What success will look like
Success will be... 3000 school children a year taking part in an inspiring and education waste water activity at Heatree Activity Centre
The project will have a massive impact on the pupils awareness and attitude towards sustainability and there effect on the environment.
We have interview three companies for the project and have a process guarantee that the new system will work.
We also have over 6000 pupils attending the centre per year to take part in Outdoor education activities and they would be interested in developing their young people along side our normal program.
This will be done through newsletters, website updates, open day invitations, plaque at the site, advertising opportunities.
Also monthly reports and pictures of the Waste water education sessions.

Heatree Activity Centre is in the heart of Dartmoor National Park, near to Hound Tor, Widecombe-in-the-Moor, Devon
The waste water plant we be situated in the field below the 180 bed main house
Young people from the south West will benefit from the new awareness they will gain from the activity.
Heatree Activity Centre has over 50 schools from the South west attending the centre on an annual basis for a Outdoor Education trip.
We are LOTC learning Outside the Classroom accredited and also run Forest school and the John Muir award, we have a high level of professionalism and over 17 year experience of educating visiting school groups.

Jon is the Centre Manager and has 14 years in Outdoor Education including a degree Environmental Ed. Jon is passionate about this project and is key.
David Trump is the operations manager of WCI and will provide the new plant and the educational resources information.
