Project information

Rural Hospital for poor and underpriviledged

There are 43 villages surrounding Snehalaya in Gwalior and Chambal region in Central India with no health care or sanitation facilities. Dr. Meena Sharma Memorial Rural Hospital serves these people there as well runs mobile clinics in slums and rural areas providing health education and treatment.

  • Need


    Most of the People in villages and slums are illiterate and poor, unaware of their rights or health care needs. We aim to provide health education to create awareness and work for intigrated rural development including sanitation, vaccination, safe drinking water, health care, education and income generating opportunities to make them self empowered and independent.


    By making them aware of common health problems for its prevention, early diagnosis and treatment as well that for cleanliness, use of safe drinking water, vaccination, maternal care, health care of children including new borns and infants.

    What success will look like

    Success will be evaluated by continued services and health education with survey from time to time to assess the progress made in area.

  • Impact


    If people esp. women get educated, they can look after children better for their education and health care needs for future. Decrease in mortality among mothers, new borns, infants and children will proove the success of the project.


    There are no risks. Starting with one, as many women can be educated, we shall nearing the goal of the project.
